On the 20th February 2012, Silverstar Marine secured a contract to provide Client Representation Services for the construction of one 24m Stabilised Monohull Windfarm Support Boat for existing client Turbine Transfers. The services being provided include regular attendance at the shipyard to assess the work progress, ensuring it meets the required standards, as well as attendance during commissioning and sea trials to verify the vessel’s performance.

The vessels are to be constructed by Austal at their new Philippines Shipyard, with completion expected in late 2012. This will be the first vessel constructed by Austal at their Philippines facility.

Turbine Transfers, based in Holyhead, United Kingdom, is a leading Windfarm support organisation providing transfers for technicians and provisions to offshore wind farms throughout Europe. Silverstar Marine’s Simon Knight said, “It is a pleasure to once again be providing services to Turbine Transfers with the construction of this new platform at Austal’s newly acquired shipyard in the Philippines”.
