On the 28th October 2011, Silverstar Marine secured a contract to provide Client Representation Services for the construction of three, 21m Catamaran Wind Farm Support Vessels for Turbine Transfers. The services supplied included regular attendance at the shipyard to assess the vessels’ progress, ensuring it meets the required standards, as well as attendance during commissioning and sea trials to verify the vessels’ performance.

The vessels are to be constructed by Austal at their Henderson Shipyard in Western Australia with completion expected in May 2012.

Turbine Transfers, based in Holyhead, United Kingdom, is a leading wind farm support organisation providing transfers for technicians and provisions to offshore wind farms throughout Europe. Silverstar Marine’s Managing Director Simon Knight said “We are delighted to support Turbine Transfers in their new build program and look forward to assisting them in delivery of compliant and well-built vessels.”
